Goose Island Honker's Ale
Next week I promise to pick something out of my ordinary rotation. Because, yes, I know this is another brownish ale. Although technically it's a pale ale. From the Goose Island site:
Named one of the best beers in Chicago, our Honker's Ale combines a spicy hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create an exceptionally balanced American Pale Ale. Craft brewed in small batches with pure filtered water, Midwest malt, the best hops and our own special yeast, Honker's Ale brings fine English-style brew to your mug.
Yummy.
Happy Friday to all. Enjoy your weekend, don't think about work, and good luck on the continuing b-ball brackets.
Yeah, Insomniac has shown me many a bar that I need to frequent when traveling. And many I now know I should avoid.
ReplyDeleteSuburbite - It's the best! I was going to go with Hex Nut, since you all know that browns are my favorite. But I was trying to do soemthing slightly different, and one that would likely be available in the most stores. I'd gladly let you buy me a Hex Nut, anytime!
ReplyDeleteIf you are beer thirsty at 10:09 AM, then my job here is done.

ReplyDeleteNow you know this one had to be looked up. My Chemical Romance? Gimme my point!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Mirror Pond Pale Ale out of Oregon is pretty good for switching things up!
Grace - Check out the right hand side of the blog - there is a sction of links all about beer points.
ReplyDeleteRoy - Beer is the best.
Platinum - I was hoping someone would come out of the closet & admit that they listen to nu-alternative rock/punk/emo bands. Because I TOTALLY do. But alas, the point will go to a Google user. :)
I used to scoff at Gooseland, back when I first got into beer, and they dropped off my purchase list. Then I tried their Belgian-style beers about a year ago, and they have fallen into my good grace again--at least as far as mass-produced micro brews go. Their IPA IMO, beats Sierra Nevada, Red Hook, maybe even Summit.
